Amazingly the 4 non Brits in this section of the draw have won 2 senior matches between them. Ed Seator has beaten both the players with wins under their belts, Al Gallaf 2 and 0, Bohamad 0 and 0.

So all in all a great chance for either Barlow or Harfield to qualify.

And it turns out there was only 2 qualifying rounds so Philip made the main draw

Main Draw R1:

Philip Barlow (Gbr) UNR vs (wc)Ali Ismaeel(Kuw) UNR

Philip couldn't have hoped for a better chance to win a ranking point here, being drawn against a local unseeded wild card.

If he wins he will most likely play 6th seed Divij Sharan WR477

crackin chance for Barlow. Hopefully his experiences trying to qualify in Spain will make him more match hardened than his opponent! As you say, its a great chance of a point!
