THE wild cards are interesting here!!!! some of the wc last week didnt make the best use of them.

mel berry maddie brooks(official name on itf now) jade curtis tasha hillyer mel percy anna hawkins tasha marks abbie probert amanda carreras holly richards amanda elliott rosanna hatch charlotte martin amy sargeant-----------was given Q wildcard but got in olivia howlett------------was given Q wildcard but got in sophie wilkinson WC aimee gibson WC aimee jarret WC laura fisher WC liz ullathorne
a few of the girls with wildcards into qualies are high up on alternates aswell so could get in and make more wildcard spots available
ive checked the itf site to see where's cavaday playing next, i thought she was playing in the 50k Indian Harbour, but shes not on the entry list or in qualifying. i looked further down, it states that she withdrawn from the tournament couple of weeks as she's going to play here!!!
I am surprised that Broady is taking the wild card here. Qualies draw should be very weak as this is so up north. No idea about the women's event, but last time in the men's Futures the main draw cut was inside 500 but they couldn't get 16 players in qualies to give seedings to!
Wonder why Proctor and Hatch have md wcs ?? Maybe it's because our other top juniors don't want wcs because they're saving them till the 2nd half of the season (you can only get 4 max per year) and the LTA had no one better to get them too
Drew's going on Tuesday which is final qualies round for the women so hopefully he can check out Curtis, Carreras and Elliott...will be Abbie Probert's first tourney for a while, hopefully she can get some good results, her game suits clay and she trains in Spain.
I feel so sorry for amy sargeant. i was talking to her last night about hoping to get a decent draw for once and i dont think she could of got a harder draw

i know where u are coming from here. i feel some of the girls in the main draw are overlooked in this way aswell people such as julia bone, lucy warburton, deb armstrong, liz thomas allways get tough draws. some people are just destines to meet seeds i think its important for them not to get too down as i think they lose alot to high ranked people and start to think its because of them then when they come to meet lower ranked players they feel very pressured to win and can slip up.
main draw has been done and its lastround qualies tomorrow but bno results up from lta as its bank holiday
"In the women's qualifying, Amanda Elliott backed up her excellent run in Bournemouth with a 6-2, 6-3 win over 6th seed Natasha Hillyer. It was a very good, solid professional performance from Amanda. Natasha is a good competitor and it was a potentially tricky match for Amanda, a few weeks ago Natasha probably would have been slight favourite but Amanda's results in Bournemouth have given her a huge amount of confidence. She served really well which was key as the match went indoors, slightly faster surface. She also struck a good balance between being aggressive and coming forward to the net and also keeping it solid from the back, making Natasha work very hard to win points, she kept having to hit one more shot.
She now faces Amanda Carreras who was too steady for her opponent. Carreras moved well and made a lot of balls, if you look at her game I'd say that her weapons are her movement and courtcraft, she's not the biggest of girls but uses the court very well."
Jade Curtis progressed with an easy win....in about 30min, she felt she played pretty well
Olivia Howlett won as her opponent retired at 6-2, 1-1
Elliott-Carreras will be v interesting....have to give the edge to Elliott but Carreras has made big strides this year and will provide totally different challenges to any of Elliott's opponents over the past week
