Anyone think Tim has a chance here ? I can't see him winning tbh, though if he plays like he did in first set v Canas in Miami, it could be close. Ferrero made an ATP final in Brazil earlier this year plus got to IW quarters. However, last week he somehow lost 4 and 2 to Alberto Martin in rd2 of Valencia.
Henman and Ferrero have played twice before. Henman won 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 in TMS Paris back in 1999 and Ferrero won 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 in rd3 of the 2003 French Open after an inspired first set of tennis from Henman
A little bit of Ferrero info:
Ferrero used to be the best in the business when it came to this time of the year, reaching 2 semis and a final at Roland Garros before eventually triumphing there. He was no mug on other surfaces either, reaching the US Open final aswell in 2003 and the Aussie Open semis. However, burn-out followed and led to an injury-stricken 2004. When Ferrero returned he found that clay-court tennis had moved on considerably with the likes of Guillermo Coria and Rafael Nadal and he's never been able to get back to his previous standing. He's currently ranked 21 and although no longer challenging for the big titles, is a regular in the top 25 and can still be a threat to the big names as he showed in Cincinatti last year when he beat Rafael Nadal on the way to the final.
