Q : Jamie has just about no singles ranking how hard was it to judge him and to play against ?
A : "I know he can play singles...he just plays doubles...it is like playing against Greg...a leftie serve and volley player...the worst kind of player for me to play against ! You know only Feliciano Lopez plays like that I think and does quite well so it is rare to face for me...he served really well and some of his volleys were just great."
No other Brit press asked any questions so the rest was done in Dutch.
Just had Jamies PC...will post later but here are the highlights :
My questions :
Q : - As someone who does not play singles...you did very well...are u pleased.
A : Yeah really enjoyed it and I could have won but really started to feel it and it showed.
Q : Whats the situation with you and Bootie
A : We will play this year and probably next as well but not in Monte Carlo as I need Andy's ranking to get in. But I want my ranking to improved so both Eric and I can get into AMS events on our own...dont think Andy wants to play doubles all the time so my aim is to get high enough with Eric so we can play together all the time.
Q : How has Louis Cayer helped your game ?
A : He has shown me so much from tactics to movement and he has just signed with LTA to coach doubles throughout the age groups. I have got him for 1 week pre month whether on tour or at Roehampton. Eric will also benefit from Louis...hes landed on his feet with that (laughs).
Good to see that Jamie and Eric are sticking together so much. If Cayer is coaching Eric as well then I'm sure that they are really serious about it - maybe they'll play indefinitely...
