That's a disappointing loss, Tvaroskova is ranked a lot lower at 351. She's been as high as 231 but that was back in 2004, she's a clay-court specialist though. She's had a decent start to 2007, made a 10K semi in Athens and beat Amanda Keen 6-4, 6-0 in Greece a couple of weeks ago.
For some reason, Katie hadn't competed since the end of Feb before this tournament. She withdrew from 4 hard court 25Ks which suggests she's been injured I guess that rust could be a reason for this result.
Both players had trouble holding serve in this match, there were multiple breaks. Katie went a set and a break down pretty quickly but pulled things back to 4-4 in the 2nd. She had a couple of points for 5-4 but missed them and Tvaroskova broke and served it out.
Katie's going to be in RG qualies this year so hopefully she can find some form in 25Ks over the next month.
