I cannot surpress my disappointment any longer! - Every time I visit this site or British Tennis I am presented with the glaring error in the construction of the British flag in the header.
I could understand it if it was a foreign web site but for a British site to get it so wrong is pretty bad, especially when it has British in the title.
For anyone who doesn't know what a union jack looks like (not truly British) a true representation of the flag can be seen on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Jack

Interesting - I hadn't looked at it properly. The usual error is for it to be upside down, but that doesn't work for this one either, it is the same either way up.

I don't know where Drew got the image from - he will be at the Davis Cup this weekend, so you will have to be patient a bit longer for it to be corrected!

Well spotted MJD....got from a flags web site that has just about every single international flag...I will email them....cannot change it...only Sheddie can do that !

Actually I have often wondered how we ended up with such a strange unsymmetical design for the British flag other than to create an everlasting opportunity to make fun of those who misrepresent it.

Why the hell the small large cross didn't simply go through the middle of the white cross I've never known but I guess there are some strange political reasons for it.

But I guess we are where we are !!

lol I hadn't noticed either, sharp spotting m-j-d. It's a very subtle difference.

Because Drew created the banner, I can't edit it unfortunately...however, hopefully Drew will soon create a new clay-court season one to replace the DC one

The reason is explained in the Wikipedia article in the original post, but essentially it is because the red saltire (representing Ireland) was added after the Scottish saltire, it is 'inferior' (in heraldic terms) to the cross of St Andrew and this is represented by displacing it.
