Their sections - First Round (1)James Ward (GBR) Bye Marcelo Palacios-Siegenthale (ESP) vs Javier Dejuan (ESP) Alfonso Munoz-Cano (ESP) vs Alen Bisevac AUT) (9)Alfonso Fernandez-Guimera (ESP) Bye

I had absolutely no idea that he was doing a Futures this week. This is very much a hasty decision as he said that he had no plans of playing men's tennis before Bournemouth and Edinburgh.
This Futures is played in the lovely city of Granada, which is very near to where Cox lives, so that explains it.
Boje will be tough as he is a young guy (19 years old) and has beaten both Slabba and Kalaitzis in the recent past. And Cox has to win a round to get to him, which won't be an easy task as he lost to unranked players on the dirt last year. But he'll do well if he plays properly.
Marcelo Palacios-Siegenthale may be unranked but he did record a win over Ward earlier this year, so let's hope Ward can get revenge. He also beat Oscar Podlewski late last year so this is still a tough draw for James.
Cox's opponent, Guerrero-Pancorbo is yet to win a match at ITF senior level, so you would expect Cox to come through that match.

Woohoo, how exciting. Dan Cox back in main draw senior action. Any idea of a main draw yet?

R1: (Q) Daniel Cox WR 1166 v (SE) Roberto Bautista-Agut (ESP) WR 910 R1: (Q) James Ward WR 854 v Sergio Perez-Perez (ESP) WR 853
Reasonable draws for both Brits, though Bautista-Agut must be on form to have got a SE. James gets the chance to take on the player who edged him out of a DA for the main draw by just one ranking place.
