jamie baker has said he enjoyed being a hitting partner but wotn again unless he is realisticaly in with a chance of playing. however he may chnage his mind if here are no decent events to play over those 2/3 weeks as a chance to train wth tose guys dont come up too often.
will aucks go? he ahs had a falling out with the DC setup (maybe just bates nit JL mind) and i feel its unliley we will play jamie and james, even if 2-0, more likley jamie and greg in that situation.

Doesn't the captain have to nominate just 4 players out of the squad to play?
I can't help wondering just where he is going to play Greg! Hopefully, only in doubles or a dead rubber - he is so out of match practice that he can't win a challenger first round.
I'm pretty sure Aucks is at odds with Lloyd. Didn't they have a falling-out when Lloyd wanted to pick him and James wasn't available because he was getting married that weekend? I seem to remember some sniping comment from Lloyd at the time, as though he thought James should have left his bride standing at the altar to play DC! But anyway, I doubt if he would pick two doubles specialists unless they were an established team. Jamie M will almost certainly play with one of Andy, Tim or Greg. Probably they will decide which one during the practice week when they find out which combination works best.
the wedding thing was for the isreal tie which was still bates.
its a 4 man team, but JL is going to name a 6 man squad. normally its a 5 squad with the 5th traditionally a promising junior for hitting practice/dead rubber duty. so boggo, murray (probably) etc all did it when they were younger. baker did it against ukraine.
its ist 1-1 (or worse) at the end of day one, i wonder which way lloyd will turn, i would expect tim/andy or tim/greg for doubles, just a hunch he wont play jamie unless 2-0.

Baker wasn't a hitting partner in Ukraine, he was always meant to be part of the playing squad. Jamie Delgado was originally the hitting partner but then came into the squad because Alan Mackin couldn't make the trip due to his progress in Orleans Challenger.

Also, Jamie Baker played in Ukraine. Played a dead rubber and got beat by Bubka.

I honestly don't see why Stretch shouldn't partner Aucks in the doubles. true they're not established, but Jamie's never played with Tim or Greg either. If JL holds a grudge against Aucks then he's just being childish IMO. I guess it'll probably depend on how well the singles go, with Jamie partnering Andy in the dubs if we need the points (god forbid), but i would go with Andy and Tim in the singles, Jamie M and Aucks in the doubles, and Greg as backup incase of injuries. i think Greg should be there, i think it means an awful lot to him and i reckon he'll really give everything if asked to play.
