Should be very straightforward for Dani against the 18 year old unranked Argentinian. Escobar has only played two matches previously on the womens tour, both in 10K qualies..she lost both.
Nothing unfortunate here. I'd much rather see her play 10Ks when she's attempting qualies or 50Ks. Chances are that she'll win a round in 25Ks and then lose to a better player, gaining little and wasting an event.
Gates is ranked 1128, last event was a 10K in Mexico last week. She qualified and then lost in rd1. She beat the 11th seed 3 and 1 yesterday so won't be easy.

Doesn't it only count if she gets ranking pts from it though ?
She'd only get a ranking pt if she made the final qualies rd
Rd1: Dani Brown (GB)(q) v L Villalobos-Cruz (Mex)(wc)
It's a good draw for Danielle, her opponent is ranked over 150 places lower at 558. She did make the quarters of the Toluca 10K a couple of weeks ago so it could be quite tricky but Danielle should still win.
Up next for Dani is (5)Estefania Craciun (URU). (wr 275)
Craciun is at a all time high ranking and recently has been trying to qualify for WTA events. Looks a tough ask to me, she won 6-2 6-1 in round 1 against a qualifier.
