Round 1 of qualies has already been played - a very repectable 5 wins out of 8.
Robert Dee loses yet again, winning only 2 games.

Benjamin George-Levi won his first match finally. Maybe my gentle ribbing of him last week spurred him into action. Hopefully he can follow it up with a few more and maybe even a ranking point or two at some point.

I'll miss him if he goes. He lives the dream. And dream it appears to be....
Yes, I know what you mean. It was bad enough when Adam retired after beating Ryderstedt (w/o!), but Robert being forced to retire too, that would be too much.
He could always write a book about his travels and the up(s?) and downs of his tennis career.

I still believe that he will win a match by the end of the year, and his results do appear to be getting slightly better.
I suppose once the ranking point comes off he may try and buy some wild cards into ftures events, or even a challenger in the hope we can draw an opponent who is just as bad as he is, or he can just continue to try and qualify but as an unranked player

I'm sure i read somewhere they were going to stop unranked players from being able to do that, as it was producing some farcically one-sided matches, and was not good for the image of the sport.
I think the fact that you no longer get a point for losing in R1 of a Challenger was supposed to remove the incentive for buying Challenger WCs. I imagine it's working too!
