Good rd1 win for Eaton, he seems very consistent at picking up points in these tourneys.
Kumlin beat Connolly last week so some revenge there.

Play was rained off all today.

Valtzer is ranked over 350 places higher at 503, he's just returned from a series of futures down under and was taken to 3 sets in rd1. The last time he won 2 main draw matches was in Turkey last summer.

I've noticed Valtzer loses quite a lot! I'd give Chris a good chance here today!

Good week so far boy!

Chris at least got on court today, but play was suspended for rain when he was a set up but about to lose the 2nd.

R2: Chris Eaton WR 878 leads (4) Dekel Valtzer (ISR) WR 503 by 6-3 3-5 (40-30)

On Friday, Chris is 1st on Court 2 at 07.30 GMT after most of Wednesday's play was rained off.

The winner of his R2 match will play Jan Stancik in the QFs on the same court 'after suitable rest', so Chris could do with winning the last point in the current game to make it 4-5, catching Valtzer cold and breaking in the next game then winning the 2nd set, otherwise Stancik will have a big advantage whoever he plays.

Chris did beat Valtzer

But other than that it's sad as he did lose the second set 6-4 and won the third on a tie break.

Stancik beat him 1 and 0

Chris and Amit Inbar did at least see the back to Stancik in doubles!

6-3 6-0! Gave him back that bagel too!

Valtzer and partner in the semis!
