R1: Alan Mackin WR 275 v Michael Ryderstedt (SWE) WR 292

Alan has not played Ryderstedt before, but the Swede has betean Josh twice and lost to Boggo twice in the last year, giving some idea of his standard.

Tough draw but on outdoor hard I think Alan will have the edge. Providing he serves well, he should be too consistent for Ryderstedt.

Ryderstedt has a career high of 130 which he reached in July 2005 but he's struggled to stay injury-free since then.

So far this year, he made the semis of the Joplin 50K, beat Goodall 3 and 4 in rd1 there and also made semis of the Sunderland 15K.

He has a strange record v Brits....2-0 against Goodall, 0-3 against Boggo, 1-1 against Marray (but Ryderstedt won in 2006). He beat Flanagan 6-3, 6-4 in Sunderland in Jan and then lost 3-6, 7-6, 6-1 a week later in Wrexham.
