Henman to play Hernych, Murray has a bye then to face qualifier and probably Safin in 3rd. If Tim wins, he will play Calleri.

As nice a draw as you could wish. I once saw him play Calleri here....hopefully they will play again and Tim will win. I am pleased with the draw and think Tim will be ready.

So you live in California? I visited my uncle in Bay area in 2004. With my dad we enjoyed some hiking (Pacific Crest Trail near Lake Tahoe) and then went down to reach Mt. Whitney. Fantastic landscape.

No, we lived in SoCal until Oct. 2005.  Believe it or not I have not done much at Lake Tahoe, just drove by it....and also I have never been to Mt. Whitney....one of those things when you think you will be there forever and so one day you will do it and then you move. We were an hour east of LA.

The two qualifiers who will play for the doubtful privilege of meeting Andy in R2 are Wesley Moodie and Boggo's conqueror Lukas Dlouhy. Those two are playing late on Friday (i.e. Saturday morning our time) but Tigger doesn't play his R1 match until a day later, which seems odd when he's in the same quarter of the draw.

JMDP a set and a break up against Kuerten. I want Kuerten to lose badly - what's he doing getting four wild cards in the US??

I think that Tim will get to rd3. I think he'll beat Hernych comfortably, seen him several times and never been impressed, just a fairly solid player. Amazing how he's got so high up the rankings.

Calleri beat Tim in straights in Indian Wells a few years ago but he's not been playing well over the past month. Very hard hitter and can cause a lot of problems with his power but he's been out of form. If Tim plays well I'd fancy him to get through to face the Undertaker and I don't think Tim's played enough matches to be able to beat him.

JMDP went on to win 7-6, 6-2.

That was a little harsh Arks, Kuerten's a great champion - 3 time RG winner, former world no 1, won the masters cup and several hard court masters series plus he made the quarters of Wimbledon, some achievement back in 1999 when most clay-courters were boycotting it.

I think he's entitled to his wcs, we'd expect them if he was a Brit.

Four wild cards is way too many. One would be fair or two given the number of tournaments the US has.

How many Americans will get a wild card at Costa do Sauipe between now and 2010? I think that I know the answer...
