Good to see Mozart winning again

Kasiri makes his comeback after that injury in France Good to see him going for a weaker futures tourney

QR2: Mozart lost 6-2, 6-1 Maybe he should stick to writing symphonies

Main draw:

Rd1: M Kasiri (GB) v C Palmanshofer (Aut)(q)

Great draw for Miles, Palmanshofer is ranked 976. He dropped 1 set in 3 matches en route to the main draw but all his opponents were ranked outside the top 1000. He's qualified for two futures this year but hasn't won a main draw match since November. Did make two 10K quarters in 2006, in Venezuala and Austria.

Miles should win this one and then he's likely to have 8th seed Phillip Bester in rd2.

Kasiri had to use his protected rnaking to play here. Hopefully it will pay off. Although now ranked below Palmanshofer he should be able to deal with him, then hopefully at least push Bester close! We're lucky Polansky stayed in the US Futures this week!

Bester is only ranked in the 600s, a fully firing Kasiri can definately take him. The rd1 match will give us a good indicator of his current form.

I wonder how fast these courts are in Canada ? Lee Childs played a series of 10Ks there in autumn 2005 with a lot of success

Faster courts will only help Bester. I'd prefer if the courts were a bit slower.

Miles wins 6-4 6-2

Also Bester goes out in round 1 to Chris Wettengel 4-6 7-6 4-6.

That's cheered me up a little after the terrible Morgan news.

Nice one Miles.

Don't know anything about Wettengel, but I guess if he beat Bester he really likes these courts.

Big push for the Quarter Finals Milesy Boy!

R2: Miles Kasiri WR 1411 lost to (Q) Chris Wettengel (USA) WR 704 by 1 & 3

Given that his protected ranking is in the 800s and people here talk about him getting into the top 500 this year, Miles suffered a surprisingly heavy loss to Wettengell in R2.
