You may remember me saying yesterday that there were probably more Brits in Lagos qualifying than there would be in Jersey Future qualifying this week. Well, there are more Brits in Lagos qualifying than there are entrants (from any country) in Jersey qualifying. It makes the African Futures look quite popular and the decision to go to Portugal look completely crazy!
We've got to go to these events and enter them one day!
QR1: Jordan Roberts UNR v Mikk Irdoja (EST) UNR QR1: Jonathan Howell UNR v Simon Cauvard (FRA) UNR
QR2: Thomas Williams UNR v (q1) Romain Jouan (FRA) WR 754 QR2: Roberts or Irdoja v (q2) Blazej Koniusz (POL) WR 817 QR2: Howell or Cauvard v (q3) Dmitri Vlasov (RUS) WR 825 QR2: (q5) Edward Seator WR 1106 v (q10) Marcin Gawron (POL) WR 1528 QR2: (q12) Matthew Illingworth WR 1528 v (q6) Jeremy Blandin (FRA) WR 1203 QR2: (q9) Alan Wright WR 1528 v (q8) Yannick Jankovits (FRA) WR 1363
With just 18 entrants, QR2 is the final qualifying round.
QR1 (all two matches of it) is being played on Courts 1 and 2 at GMT on Sunday, with QR2 to follow on Monday.

Anyone who gets four wild cards correct must be psychic.
Flanagan (if he is still coming back to the UK), Brewer, Bamford and some junior who we have never heard of would be my guesses
Actually playing in one of these events might not be the worst idea ever, as I'm sure that if we all got together and chose an event to try for, at least 1 of us would win a match (or we'd draw each other and so be guarenteed a win that way), or we'd draw Robert Dee, and we could get the win that way...

Exactly. Dee would be seeded here, so beat him and a couple of retirements later, you've got a ranking point.

Well, there's a surprise, the battle of the unranked players in QR1 and both Brits get totally stuffed ...

Not sure if you want to update the news to include the rankings, which I've just added, but even if you don't, you should put a (WC) next to Bammy - my mistake, sorry.

are you there Steven? did you find a partner in time?
Shame that only Seator qualified in the end.
Good luck to all the Brits this week, are Goodall and Baker in the same half or can we have them both in the final? Who's the second seed? (I should probably just look it up myself but I'm feeling very lazy)

No I didn't - can't see anyone from the board there, the field's actually not that weak.
You can work out that Jamie and Josh aren't in the same half - the no. 4 seed comes between them in the matches I posted (which are always in draw order), so must be in the top half, meaning that Jamie can't be.
The no. 2 seed is Tobias Clemens.
