Kyoto (JPN) 25k+H Challenger 2007 (Indoor Spuckturf)

R1: (8) Alan Mackin WR 239 v Qualifier

The other seed in Alan's section is (3) Rajeev Ram (USA) WR 194. Not a bad draw.

Live scoring at http://www16.ocn.ne.jp/~takyoto/tournament-info/2007/43th-shimadzu-indoor/HP/07Shimazdu.htm, it should be possible to work out the Japanese for Mackin by the time he plays! Kyoto is GMT + 9.

R1: (8) Alan Mackin WR 239 v (Q) Shao Xuan Zeng (CHN) WR 799

The best draw Alan could have got - Zeng is only just ranked in the top 800 and was helped to get through qualifying by the top seed in his section dropping out. The other seed in Alan's section is (3) Rajeev Ram (USA) WR 194.

Alan is not down to play on Monday.

Great that Alan is seeded. Should be a pretty easy R1.

does +9 mean it is before or after?

i.e. is it 9PM there at midday here?

Japan is nine hours ahead of you people. So when it's 3 a.m. in Britain, it's mid day in Japan.

Waiting in R2 for the winner of Mack's match is Lars Burgsmuller.

In the top half the No 1 and 5 seeds lost in R1. Sadly Alan is in the bottom half.

Mackin plays R1 not before 11am Japan time on Court B.

So I guess that's a possible 2AM start tonight for us. Result should be in by the morning!

If it starts at 2am, I will probably still be up for that. Anyone else?

It's 5:30 a.m. here as it is. It can't hurt much more if I stay up till 7.

アラン・マッキン(イギリス)is Alan Mackin (GBR), the 17 v 18 match, but they don't seem to have updated the scoreboard for hours. I think it's just final scores, not live scores too, but it's a couple of matches behind.

If Mackin is the first named player he won 6-1 6-3. If not it's a disastrous defeat! On the same principle, it also looks Bohli defeated Ram, the other seed in Alan's quarter.

Good to see Ram go out as well, opens up the draw for Alan a bit hopefully he can make use of it.
