Cricket World Cup 2007.

soo close. bit dodgy not blowing the lst ball imo. but great play from bopara and nixon to get us back into it any way. big time let donw by vaughn and flintoff. vaughn maybe a good captin, but he has ben lettign the side down with his batting. freddies bowling is good, but he's not the legenday alreadounder anymore.

wow! Close in the end.

Freddie has absolutely lost it with the bat.

Vaughan got a shocking decision today to be fair to him, but given his form probably would have got out fairly soon after.

Its not mathematically over but they will have to beat the Aussies and the South Africans and the West indies now just to possibly get to the semi finals.

They have to beat SA, Windies and South Africa and they could go through if SA lose to NZ they can go through to semis

We won a tournament in Australia, so we can very much do it.

Yes I think even if England lose to Australia ( preferably not thumped ) they have still a very good chance of going through IF they beat Bangladesh, South Africa and the West Indies.

4 wins could be enough in itself, but also their runrate is currently superior to South Africa ( even with less wins ), who are possibly the most likely team for it to come down to runrate against.

Hey, I've now even just convinced myself that it is possible for England to go through to semis with just 3 wins.

Australia, Sri lanka and New Zealand fill first three places.

England, South Africa and West Indies tie on 3 wins as a result of :

England beating Bangladesh and South Africa and losing to Australia and West Indies

South Africa beating Bangladesh and losing to West Indies, New Zealand and England

West Indies beating South Africa and England and losing to Bangladesh ( hey, can allow one surprise result ! )

England beat South Africa and West Indies on runrate.

Bangladesh perhaps beat Ireland but have no other victories other than against West Indies, so Bangladesh and Ireland take bottom two places.

Simple.........

OK, maybe best to aim for at least 4 wins !

Yeah. Probably best to keep winning just for the sake of my nerves!

I'd have preferred we hadn't won is Australia cause it gave them a wake up call which they've taken well
