ATP introduces green clay event

The ATP Houston event this year will be held on green clay, first ATP event to be held on the surface. It's to cut costs.

Green clay is made from crushed stone and is a tiny bit faster than the red stuff and has a more uniform bounce.

I don't think that this year's event is the first ever event on green clay. Houston was once played on green clay. Or so I think... Not sure.


Not fond of tennis on this surface, but I guess that it makes the thing more unique, which is always good!

There used to be green clay at my club but it was really slippy and no one liked it. Really high bounce though and faster than red clay. I'd say that it actually bounced higher than red clay.
