Joplin Challenger QF : Baker v Ram

Since we only have Andy and Jamie left playing singles I though we would give Jamie his own thread for his QF match v Ram.

The good news is that the ATP livescore page below for some reason is showing the Joplin singles matches. This is very unusal as it has only ever shown to my knowledge main ATP and slams.

http://atplive.enetpulse.com/atp.pop.php

I use this for my mobile phone and is quick to load. It only updates on games and not points but better than nothing.

Edit : You may have to refresh the web page (F5 key) manually for it to update.

See the thread below info on how to get tennis scores on your mobile..

I hope Jamie can win this.....3 tight sets for me

This live score page is not advertised anywhere from what i can tell....i wonder if it is the feed the media use for score updates ?

Enetpulse used to do the livescoring for the ATP on their website...now it is protennislive..or something...they could even be  the same company ?

It would be good if they could cover challengers...maybe just on their side of the pond ?

Hey, let us hope for this side of the pond too - it is not that easy to get British Challenger scores. It usually involves ringing the tournament office and being given wrong info. . .

Damn, the scoreboard is still blank, and they must have started by now.

Luckily we have Tiger who provides pretty decent coverage of the challengers with scores and reports on here but hopefully the LTA will do something about getting websites for the challengers soon especially as they're going to upgrade them to 75Ks upwards from next year onwards. Once britishtennis.net has been going for a little while I'm hoping to try and arrange some kind of proper live scoring system with the LTA for some GB tournaments later this year. Hopefully the fact that the site is so popular will help to persuade them.

Hopefully Jamie can produce another result like last night, that was an amazing win !

Ram will be tough, massive serve and he's 6ft4 so difficult to pass and lob when he gets into the net. He serve-volleys, doesn't have much to trouble opponents with from the back  which is why he's unlikely to make top 100. In 2005 he was regarded as one of the big upcoming hopes for US tennis, made quite a ranking rise to the top 200 and got a US Open wildcard but has plateaued since and hasn't been higher than 184. He made the quarters last week after beating Mackin, lost a 3rd set breaker to the "Big Cat."

Craig what did you make of him in Dallas, how do you rate Jamie's chances ?

I get a "you are not allowed access" type message when I try to access that link, but according to MTF the 1st set of the match before Jamie's has just finished, so he's not on yet. The first match was won in straights, so I'm not quite sure why it's taken 5 hours to play three sets!

I can get to atplive.enetpulse.com/atp.pop.php if I go to the enetpulse.com home page then paste in this link, it just deosn't seem to let me in if I try to get in from here.

Looks like we won't be in luck anyway - even the score of the match that's already finished isn't there.

Great start for Jamie - hopefully he can keep it up and get the win. I'm so impressed with the start of the season he's had.

I asked the guy if he is sure of the result and he replied

"results ok , but oficial only in draw ) good night"

I would have prefered "Yes, no doubt about it" but I guess we will have to wait for secondary confirmation.

If true Jamie will add 24 points (minus 1) giving him  a minimum of 167 points and a career high ranking of ~240.

Great result if true - this really has been a great week for him. It would have been easy for him to have a drop off after yesterday but great work.
