There was mixed success on the Mallorcan clay for this weekend's 10K qualifying. Abbie Probert is still shaking off the rust after a 6 month layoff due to a wrist injury and she was outplayed 6-1, 6-3 by the 13th seed in round 1. There was better news regarding 10th seed Kirsty Woolley. She overpowered Germany's Maren Kassens 6-0, 6-3 and now faces unranked Russian Alla Aleksandrova in round 2.
