well the lta looked like they were improving their site, buit i think they have let themslves down big time with their total lack of coverage of bloomers and bakers sterling efforts this week! Esp in a week in which the only real news was the AO, its not like they had huge ammounts to deal with; 1 senior player, 1 junior i guess.
In the past i thought it was just boggo at challengers they ignored, but they seem to pick up most boggo stories now, but dont seem to be able on the others. its been great to see some new brits doing well, recently, but not getting the news. In peoples opinion which was better mackin at aoq or baker in waky? probably mackin's just but there isnt much in it. yet mackin had huge coverage
but its even worse that they cant cover a home event, with a new home finalist (was this rich's 1st final - ithink it was?) ok so rich isnt a lta pin up boy, but it doesnt excuse it.
My feeling is that a younger pro player (not a kid) who while might look up to murray, but maybe not still believe he will be the next one, would surely feel that if they put in the effoert and make the achivements baker and rich have recently some recognition would be nice.

What they do (or at least did) very often was put a main article and put other information in the same article. Like reporting a big Challenger and posting information from smaller Challengers and Futures in the same thing. Ignoring achievements totally is sad.
1) Whoever's been doing the better news articles recently has gone on holiday and nobody else can be bothered.
2) The guy mentioned above has been sacked for the cardinal LTA sin of being too keen on tennis / knowing something about it.
3) They've decided that the better news service was a waste of money and have scrapped it, hoping we won't notice.
4) They think Norfolk is the island in the South Pacific that belongs to Australia, so they ignored Wrexham once Richard was the only Brit (oops, I mean Australian!) left and they didn't manage to get anything meaningful out of Hawaii.
5) They only run a main story if they know about the player's website and can get all the info they need from there.
I think Toby once sent them a press release when Jonny Marray was doing well in a tournament and they wrote an article drawing extensively on that, so maybe that's what we need to do for players without agents to get them mentioned!

The article on the homepage about Andy being at as ranking high DOES contain a little on Jamie and Richards week but no more than describing how they did. It was up at lunch time today...

I'd put my money on a combination of 1 and 5, with a possible 6: LTA bod was in Melbourne as part of the British press corps, and has missed this weekend's stories because they're currently somewher over the Indian Ocean.
Challenge to MJD and Shedman: send a snappy press release with quotes from your player to the LTA, the BBC and the Telegraph.
I tihnk we really need to put some pressure on LTA once the new british tennis site is up to provide better coverage of British futures and challengers.
LTA is a laughing stock with fans the world over. Alsways the last to provdie results and there's often a controversy over them.
France FFT has a main website with lists and scores and each tournament has its own site with draws updates after every match and match stats for a lot of them.
German and Eastern european challengers often have live scores and webcams.
The LTA need to do better. Its all very good buying world class coaches but they also need to provide a service for fans like us. The exposure for the british players would be good too.
If they can give us the live feeds or news on wire etc... we can publish it to the web.
I think that amongst the so called "tennis nations", the worst sites are those of Tennis Australia and the LTA.
The LTA are just a bit better now, as we get the qualifying draws after the first round of qualifying has been played, unlike TA, which publishes them after the first round of the main draw...
I agree with what you say. When our site will be up, it can easily provide them with proper content.

FFT is the best federation in the world by far!
Les Petit As, Tarbes, actually has Livescores: Link.
Other countries have scores for 14 and under events, but we can't have one for Surbiton!!
