Serena won 6-4, 6-3 in Miami in 2004. Sharapova won their other 2 matches that year: 6-1, 6-4 in the Wimbledon final and 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the WTA end of season championships final. The next year, Serena won an absolute thriller in the Aussie Open semis on the way to the title, winning 2-6, 7-5, 8-6 and saving several match points along the way.
Personally I think Sharapova may be a bridge too far for Serena and that Sharapova will win in straights but then again Serena has confounded me right throughout this tournament. I thought she'd go out to Petrova and was sure that if not, Jankovic would beat her, lol !

Good good, so I'll have some company on here in the small hours
