Weekly Competition : The Brits' Progress

Henman to go out to Verdasco in the semis. (Very random I know but if I'm right...)

Tigger to lose to Blakey in the Final.

I get the feeling this is going to be either a very good week or a very bad week for Tim, with no grey area in between. Having said that, he'll now go out narrowly to Mahut or lose to Hewitt in the QFs (i.e. the grey area between good week and bad week!)

would anyone care to read the rules very carefully on the first post, and then try and work out how many points people got this week ?

The important bit seems to be:

"In the case of no-one getting it exactly right, 60 pts would be shared between whoever got the correct player + number of rounds. Or correct player, if rounds not right."

So I think john, imoen, usm, johnnylad and me all get 12 points. Thank goodness it's not the closest round if nobody gets the round right.

Seeing as Steven's deductions get me 12 points I agree entirely with his interpretation!

Now, who's going to suggest changing the rules, waiting 12 hours, then changing them back again?

Obviously not from an unbiased viewpoint, but ... it states  "Which player will get through the most ATP tournament rounds  .. byes do not count".  In this case, Bogo actually got thru the same number of rounds as tigger, i.e none, so my prediction also counts as the correct player.

So I believe it's 10 pts for John, Sum, Imoen, Johnylad, Steven and myself.

Next up Indian Wells, matches don't start until Friday or so, draw out later today. Entries by Friday 1600 please

Tigger did win a main draw match though, doesn't that count as getting through a round? (it's kind of like getting through R1 but not getting through R2 to the QFs)

I'm really not fussed, but we probably ought to clarify it for next time.

Another reason to ban Round Robin - they are making our lovely game hard to comprehend.
