Hmm, could be tough for Harriet with Han being at home. She's been in reasonable form recently. Harriet did beat her in 3 in the Japan semi final earlier in the year.

Good luck to both.

Great to see them giving WTA's a good go.

Same odds, but in reverse.

Harriet 1/2 vs 6/4
Katy 6/4 vs 1/2

Just a little confusion: steven's table has 1 point for being in the first Q round (now just Harriet) and 12 points for Katy having come through one match into FQR.

Which ties in with last year, I think.

But the pdf for this year has zero points for the first round, 1 point for Katy (effectively) and then 18 points for qualifying.

I spotted that but presumed it was an error. A 16QD is 1-12-18, which is what shows on the Guangzhou Open draw sheet.

Well, so far Katy's 12 pts for the QR1 replace 12 pts coming off from this time last year... but although she did reach the QR2 of the same tournament a year ago, this 12 points are very surprisingly for winning a 15k in Kyoto last Sept, the week before the Seoul tournament! It is strange, because overall Katy has only increased her points tally by 35 altogether this year, as per Steven's table, but her level and standard of play has increased by much more than that, as can be seen in the different sources of the 12 pts coming on and off this week. It is certainly the last 15k she played in wink

I had expected her to be top 200 by now, so let's hope she does get there soon.

QR1: Katy DUNNE (GBR) 223 beat Jaime FOURLIS (AUS) [q9] 194 2-6 6-2 6-2

FQR: Katy DUNNE (GBR) 223 vs Priscilla HON (AUS) [q6] 176

Harriet's match was rain delayed, but it has started now and she has gone an early two breaks up *3-0

First set bagel for Harriet, on serve in the second set so far although she just missed out on a BP.

6-0 *1-2

The drawsheet is a bit stingy re its 1 point reward for a QR1 win. Err try 12 increasing then indeed to 18 for a FQR win.
