Ward is playing really well in these futures, maybe he is ready to step back up to Challengers soon!

I was accused of trolling for predicting wards year end ranking to be 178...

Really pleased for James. Shows the value of picking your tournaments wisely to not only pick up points and pounds, but also form and confidence. Really hope he can finish the job and lift the trophy tomorrow.

Absolutely, he should be able to compete at Challenger level with the likes of Edmund very soon Id say....

Leave ATP to Andy, Dan and Cam though.

Dino is *2-5 up in the first set.  He has had to save a bp in each of his 2 previous services games.

A title win here would shoot James right up to around Top 220 in the rankings. Fingers crossed he can see it out. Looking good so far!

Dino serves out the 1st set 6-3. Popyrin has a huge forehand but has made some quite bad UEs.  He's also been caught out by drop shots.

Yes, interesting to watch Popyrin, first time I've seen him play.
He's just 19, born 1999, like Finn Bass.
Used to be JWR 2, so absolute top junior.
And is working his way up the adult rankings nicely - smooth transition - making QFs etc in lots of challengers.
As you say, very big forehand, and moves well for someone of his height (6 ft 5?)
James has outplayed/out-foxed him so far. But pretty close.
Hope he can keep it up.

Dino's level has dropped.  He is a break down in the decider, and I really don't get the impression he will turn it around....
