Week 32 - Challenger - Lisheng Sprots Cup, Jinan, China ($150,000) (hard)

I thought James was a goner here - he was a set & *2-4 down, then *3-5 down (I think) then won 10 of the next 11 games to go through!

L32: James Ward WR 305 defeated (WC) He Yecong (CHN) WR 844 (CH 492 in 2016) 2-6 7-5 6-1

L16: James Ward WR 305 v Arjun Kadhe (IND) WR 346 (CH 345 in Jul)

Kadhe upset the 7th seed (though it involved a retirement) in R1.

That takes James ward back into top 300. Another win will help him make a big jump this week

James has finally started after some rain, on live stream, and has nabbed an early break *2-1

QF:  James Ward WR 305 vs Lee Duckhee (KOR) WR 239 (CH = 130 in April last year)

James, course, beat Lee in the last 16 in Chengdu last week.  Let's hope he can repeat that feat.

Good stuff. Big money challenger so 20 points to James so far, 40 if he wins his QF. The title winner gets 110 points.

Only just though.  Lee served for the match at *5-4 in the 2nd set, before James turned it around.

James back in the top 300, win the title and he ll likely be GB number 4 unless Liam can beat Jay.

One seed left, no players ranked in top 200, this is a great chance for a big rankings leap here. Savvy scheduling when you consider how tough the American hard court swing is. Maybe Evo should have came here as well, although if I recall hes not too keen on Asia.
