A great shame but throughly enjoyed watching that match evolve, ABB described the first set beautifully, Jo was flying, about to blow Mertens away as she had Serena but, the matched flipped. Jo got broken from nowhere. The change in Mertens body language and performance from the moment she broke was surreal. A completely different player stepped forward as if Popeye had just necked a can of spinach.

Hev's doubles SF up soon - time to set up a shelter behind the sofa smile

 

Or not - can't find a score for the first SF. confuse

 

Chan+ won 6-1 6-4 - Hev+ due to start. Serves me right for  using the WTA site disbelief

Just the one break of serve. Heather+ got to a deuce deciding point at 4-5* but lost it.

Darn 

Never saw other than livescore so no idea how these last 6 points played out ( other than there were two second serves from *8-5, though over the MTB as a whole they were better in that regard and the twins earlier chucked in 2 DFs ) but I had got rather optimistic.
