Having had a BYE & a w/o, I can't remember what points they get for that.

Looking forward to seeing Tara resurgent on proper rest and a more readily understandable itinerary.

I think they get ranking points from the round before the one they lost in (due to the walkover), so QF points ?

I don't think Tara is entered anywhere in the next two weeks, so hopefully the rest will do her some good.

Yes, I had been wondering if this was to happen, which it unfortunately has.

To my mind they should get the full SF 18 points in that it isn't their fault that their opponents withdrew and denied them a chance to actually win a QF match. But I am not sure that they do and we are talking WTA here ...

Tara's 11th counter is 15 so she would still only be currently adding 3 net points but that's not the point or err points.

You get points for a walkover not a bye. So SF points.

My understanding is that you have to have won a match to get the ranking points for the round. If you haven't yet played you get ranking points for the previous round.

i. If a player or team receives a walkover in the 1st round, and there is no Alternate or Lucky Loser to take the spot, or if a player or team receives a walkover in a subsequent round without having yet played a match, the player or team will receive ranking points from the round preceding her/their elimination.

ii. A player or team who receives a walkover in any round except the 1st round after having played and won a match shall be awarded ranking points for the walkover from their opponent

Tara hasn't increased her ranking points total so not been given 18 SF points ( net 3 to her ) for her doubles bye then w/o then SF loss.

The WTA site match / activity history shows just 1 point to Tara and her partner Quirine Lemoine but not sure how trustworthy that bit is !!

The official rankings pdf has also just given 1 point.

Coric has interpreted the rules the same as I do and given her 9 QF points, being the round previous to their elimination.

I wonder if it means in the previous round they had 1 point from the bye, so that's what they get rather than QF points.
