I certainly didn't expect that again today. A thumping win. She has a winning H2H against her SF opponent, Giangreco Campiz, too, 1-0.

Hopefully this week might augur a third singles title for Francesca, and then a focus on higher level competition. For both the sake of points in themselves, but also as insurance against the onrush of the new system.

She continues to inspire and delight

Opposition getting tougher but Fran is getting quicker.

Keep it up.

Looking at the ITF lists, looks like Fran is down to play 2 25k's in Spain. Good decision I think.

Fran still has a lot of 1 pointers - she might be better waiting until she is sure of getting in the MD at 25k.

Everyone is chasing ATP/WTA points. There will be loads of soft points at ITF.

I suspect 25ks might become more loaded

Allez, Fran !

And little Oona in the other semi-final (although she's playing the top seed) - she's only 17 too, born 2001, a wildcard, UNR...

So two juniors in the semis

NB Fran's opponent got up to JWR 8 in juniors - another top-10 junior who's never cracked it in adult tennis.....

Second set not quite as straightforward. Checked the score and it was 2-4* which meant that Fran had been broken twice, but she has just broken to love herself and it is now *3-4.
