Week 24 - Challenger (€127,000+H) - Nature Valley Open - Nottingham, Great Britain (grass) - doubles

One thing I notice over the years on here is that the argument always because more heated at this time of year when it comes to Wild Cards etc. That in itself is the problem British Tennis has with the eggs in one basket grass court season. Instead of raising prize money every year surely this money should be put into lower down the levels.

We probably wouldnt be arguing about this if things were more balanced, the mens game outside our top 5 just now isnt looking good.

I'm not Wikipedia but I'm also not calling players either terrible or not even a professional sportsman.

And there's a whole lot of difference between overlooking one thing and using incorrect statements to insult players.

I'm not taking the bait this time. Paulsi?

Because it's the only match to start the day, the outside court is packed for Joe's doubles match. Joe and Freddie win the first set 6-4.

Are they last week's rankings for the Skupskis. I'm sure they are both inside the top 50 now.

You're quite right, Paul.  For some reason, I completely forgot to update them!    Last post now amended to reflect this week's rankings.

Don't know re Wimbledon. But at least Joe with a former champion must surely have a great chance of a Wimbledon WC if they did choose to play together as compared to sometimes how Brits that dare to have foreign partners have been treated previously.

First set in the bag for Freddie and Joe 7-6(5) They lost an early break, but broke back when Austin served for the set at 5-3 on the deuce point, followed by saving 2 set points next game. One inspirational return by Freddie at 6-5 in the tiebreak decided the set.

Another good return from Freddie sees an early break of Austin's serve and a hold for a 4-1* lead in set 2
