My goodness, what a wowzer win !

It was a long game and I counted three aces in the game (and one - maybe two - double faults)

Thrilled for the girl !!!!!

I know that Mr Allen (Vicki's dad) only booked rooms for two nights when he went to Surbiton - didn't think his daughter would be there that long

Hope he's not going to get kicked out his time and can extend the booking.

Meanwhile, nice to see Holly H making a match of it in the second set.

SHe lost the first 1-6 but it's 4-3 on serve in the second.

Chang is not brilliant on grass and not got a lot of confidence at the moment (lost to EWS).

HH just had a BP but was saved. Big contrast in sets so far. It's all going on here - Swan back in business in Nott'm, Manc qualies and Riske taking on Perrin in Surbiton. Hard to keep up.

Well congrats to both Eden Richardson for her 6-2 6-0 win, and that amazing result from Victoria Allen - not many players can boast having beaten the WR 323 to win their first ranking point!

Eden had a ranking previously, but this is her first current point.

I'm sure Vicki had ranking points before. She made the semis in some really unlikely run in Britain somewhere a couple of years back - others more knowing than me will set it right.

Yes, you're right CD, have just looked. She reached a 10k SF in Nottingham in 2016, beating Gemma Heath in the QF and then losing to Eden in the SF.

Does that make three counters now for Summer? I know she has the QF from Helsinki. Or is that now just two?

It's just the two, she still needs one more.

Thanks. At least she's got two quite close together so she's got a while to get the third.

Also, go little Holly Staff ! She's born 2002, so a 'tiddler'. She's playing that American Mueller, who got thrashed by Neel at Surbiton who was herself playing pretty poorly, I thought. So go Holly, enjoy, nothing to lose.
