Weeks 22 & 23 - French Open, Roland-Garros, Paris (clay)

.... and been broken again. First set gone. Without plan B don't see her participation here lasting long. Would be good if she can find a way of extending this match at least into a third set 4-6

...and was broken again so is 4-6 down.

The lack of a plan B makes this so grimly, disappointingly predictable. 4-6 *1-4
Come on Jo, surprise us... surprise yourself... even if a forlorn hope confuse

Jo will not be breaking her run of R1 defeats this year.

How much longer can this go on? She clearly needs at least a plan B and ideally a plan C as well.

Given how poor Poots is on clay this utterly miserable.

Nothing redeeming about this performance

Decent hold but then Putinseva did the same for 2-5 so looks bleak now! Really hope that Jo can salvage something out of this but not looking likely.

The one consolation from Jo's performance is to hear Marion say 'shocker'

I had thought Jo had been improving steadily over the clay season. So to see a poor performance from Jo here is disappointing to say the least. Maybe she just hates Roland Garros?

That was pretty dismal. At least her volleying has improved for the grass

Plan B, C and D needs to be seek out a new coach surely !!! Joyce seems to be a millstone round her neck.

Really desperate! In the end didnt make Putintseva work for it at all. What concerns me is that we can all see what is going on but the man who is supposed to be helping her (and presumably is paid a lot of money to do so) cant.

Unless the grass court season goes well, I think there will be some coaching changes at the end of Wimbledon.

Really hope though that Jo can turn this all Around but something needs to change here...

Putinseva won 65 points and 32 of those came from Jo's unforced errors. How does she possibly think she can win when she gives her opponent 50% of their points?

Jo has sooooo many points coming off / to defend during the grass season as well. I don't know how many but she will be right down the rankings if she doesn't do even somewhat ok.
