Laura is also in the MD for Obidos, and for Singapore (both 25ks), as is Katie S currently for the latter, as well as for Hua Hin.
MD WCs for Surbiton will be interesting, a taste of how they may go for Wimbledon...

They've all withdrew from those and are concentrating on Surbiton. Katie B is now in the main draw and Gabi, Harriet, Katy D and Laura are currently on the Q list and Katie S is just outside qualifying so it will be interesting to see how the WCs go as you say.

Maia is in the main draw for Obidos. Fran in the main draw for a 25k in China

I'm not sure China has updated as it doesn't have any automatic withdrawals listed. Obidos does and Fran is in the qualifying list as 2nd alt for the MD

Yeah I saw she was very close to the Obidos entry list and even if she had to qualify (via a high seeding) that would surely be more beneficial being closer to home for other competitions than the other side of the world.

As I suspected, Fran is now showing as having withdrawn from China before the withdrawal deadline. So it's the carpets of Obidos that she's chosen.

Interesting that Maia has decided to chase the points in a weak 25k rather play the tougher GB grass season.

Maia has still had very limited success at 25k level, and it would be good for her to build up more wins, and therefore confidence, at this level, before really taking on tougher challenges.

Yes, I think that Maia is probably looking for matches and building experience as much as anything.

It is actually quite good to see her much more active abroad and at times far abroad. Been a bit of a home bird before this year, certainly re obtaining wins.

I imagine she will be home for the Wimbledon qwc play-offs if she doesn't get a direct qwc.

I assumed that her UK centric schedule was about working around her studies (and probably her budget too). Has she left Stirling now?

I would think she has another year there, she was 20 in January

ATP Surbiton Challenger Entry List

I wondered if one of the mods wanted to move this over into the mens section and for that matter I guess all the other entry list I have posted in general, in case they confuse anyone? !

The only positive for Laura is that she has just 23 pts to lost this coming month. But still, I think this grass season may be a critical time for her and how much she can compete in it. She's still only 24 but feels like a real veteran... Whilst she may enjoy playing in bits and pieces I can't see her motivation lasting too much longer if she can't climb back up the rankings into the 200s again.
