Week 16 - ITF ($25K) - Obidos, Portugal Carpet

That must be one of the best ITF matches I have seen this year, some really good rallies. Could have gone either way, but Katie was always playing catch-up.
Katie B must be favourite for the final after that tough match for Ula, but there's a bit of a gap for a rest.

They're very efficient; you can see why they have been having such success together.

6-2 *2-0 and the sound no-one wants to hear, the increasing patter of rain drops...

Consecutive $25K titles for Grey-Nicholls is nothing to be sniffed at

Their eighth title together, and third at $25K
4 consecutive years they've won a title together/

Sarah Beth's 10th career pro title all in doubles; her fourth $25K (she also won one with Sam Murray)
Olivia's 11th career pro title, also all in doubles.

Wonderfully efficient, and here is the formal score - posted also because I want to compare their rankings last week with this week... and next week too, after their two wins.

Beth -  Last week: 329 This week: 289  Next week: +/- 255 (Total points: 275)
Olivia - Last week: 476  This week: 378 Next week: +/- 312 (Total points: 197)

And this isn't anywhere either... Hope Katie gets into the game soon. Katie S had an extremely close, high quality match against Urszula, as the addict mentioned.

SF: BOULTER, Katie (GBR) 2 196 beat GATTO-MONTICONE Giulia (ITA) 6 262 CH=214 (2014) 7-5 6-4
SF: SWAN, Katie (GBR) 296 lost to RADWANSKA Urszula (POL) WC 512 CH:29 (2012) 3-6 6-1 4-6

F: BOULTER, Katie (GBR) 2 196 vs RADWANSKA Urszula (POL) WC 512 CH:29 (2012)

Radwanska's playing well. Some really excellent retrieving earns her a second break against Katie after a long game. She will now serve for the first set 1-5*

Great effort from Katie S smile

Radwanska, notwithstanding her current ranking would've been a great win

Well, how important is this 9th game going to be! Katie has saved 5 SPs so far!!!

Now she has saved 7 SPs and Radwanska 2 BPs..

Radwanska DFs the 8th

Another SP saved and two more BPs - 9 SPs and 4 BPs so far

a 10th AND 11 th SP saved!!!! And these are NOT short rallies, some long very heavy hitting on both sides....

12th and 13th SPs saved...

And Katie thought she had won her 5 BP. Somehow Radwanska's shot crawls over the net and falls dead on her side...
