That should be a good confidence boost for her. A talented junior next but still a real chance now for her to make the SF.

Alicia was rather taken apart in the first set by the clearly talented youngster, Talbi 2-6.

Hope she finds her range better 2nd set.

And the not so good. In the second set here Lissey was *4-2 up, but then got broken back, and after that the set went on serve to the TB. However, even if she only finished with 2 singles points for the week - which means that Fran Jones will pass her in the GB #19 position, Lissey's doubles ranking will at least get a good boost.

QF: BARNETT, Alicia (GBR) 658 vs TALBI, Shalimar (BUL) 751=CH 17yrs (JCH:401 July 17) 2-6 6-7(5)

Lissey and Julia started very well and were 4-1 up first set, but then gradually were caught up, and from 5-4 in the first set, they only won 1 more game in the match... So a meek surrender at the end, though it is possible Julia was also hindered as she withdrew from her singles QF match yesterday.

F: Alicia Barnett/ Julia Terziyska (GBR/BUL) [3] 998 (549+449) lost to Melanie Klaffner/ Anna Morgina (AUT/RUS) [2] 888 (575+313) 5-7 1-6 cry
