Zverev shows that he hasn't yet got the stamina for a tough five-setter, going out to Chung losing the last two sets 3 & 0

Djokovic is looking good for a man with no votes.

Hoping my vote for Dimitrov goes horribly wrong on Tuesday!

No one tipped Thiem but he looks in a heap of trouble against Sandgren. Never won a slam match before this event. Big story if he wins to play djoko next and a headline writers dream. Anyone for Tennys

Not any more.

Chung v Sandgren in the QF.  The changing of the guard or just a freak year ?

Tennys Sandgren was beaten in 3 consecutive Challengers by Cameron Norrie last Sept/Oct and now he's in the Aus Open Quarters the following Jan. Shame Cam isn't his opponent in the Quarters here he'd be the clear favourite to win going by h2h

Neither so far. I previously said in the tournament thread that I considered that the jury was still put on a changing of the guard. And I believe that it is still deliberating. The old guard will move on but for now Federer and Nadal, the dominating players of last year, are in the QF and I'm not sure that say Sandgren and Berdych were the new guard being thought about

Great for Chung but Djokovic was out for a long time ( though yes whether he for one will really come again ... ). And clearly tremendous for Kyle and for us. But overall the old guard / young guard results have been a bit of a mixture.

Now a Kyle vs Chung final rather than Nadal vs Federer and you're really talking !!!  Though both the young men will have done great here, whatever now.

Fascinating last 8 on several levels:

Nadal v Cilic - hard to see Rafa not winning I am afraid

Dimitrov v Edmund - great match to look forward to, fingers crossed on this one. GD starts favourite though

Federer v Berdych - Berdych sprung back to form but Fed must be favourite and clearly

Chung v Sandgren - what??? Crazy days. Not even going to try and call this one!

I voted for Rafa, but would be absolutely delighted to lose this if Kyle knocks him out. Daring to believe?
