I'm considering entering a Norfolk team, it's the first year the county will have team tennis. So theoretically I could get a team from county this year, to regional south east north next year, to national south east in 2020. Would be good advert for both Norfolk Tennis and my Corporate Tennis competition. Some of the Norfolk county team are keen, so it could basically be like David Lloyd Ipswich who are effectively the Suffolk county team.

What an opportunity to honour the only county without a motorway. A1 Pharmaceuticsls eat your heart out this is the real deal.

Very exciting which A road would you name them after A47 or A140 must be major candidates, I prefer A140 slightly understated but gets you there in the end. Obviously thats the prefix sorted, I would suggest an animal much in the way the American colleges pick a fierce carnivore. Norfolk is famous for its distinct dialect Norfolkease and has specific words for certain creatures...

my choice would be the A140 Jaspers sponsored by premier Inn and the pride of radio Norwich. Out to sting the opposition and although readily available in Norfolk beetroot juice free, I hope.

Haha Oakland... although I don't live there now, Norwich is my city... and football club... as I studied there... and it's a great place to do so!!! Norfolk may be rural, but the town is an academic centre these days. There is also now a completed dual carriageway road, the A11, so only needs one more 1. the A140 goes to Ipswich, so no-one from Norfolk will ever endorse that road, if you understand the local football rivalries winkwink

The A11 Canaries has a nice ring to it, although I'm not sure how fierce canaries are, sponsored by Aviva (formerly Norwich Union).

Just brings out the geek in me, sorry; all this uniqueness of Norfolk and motorways nonsense.

I guess national team tennis is considered by most of you guys as a waste of time but it was an opportunity to have a sponsored player a little PR for the  sponsor and the funding did not do marcus willis any harm and helped neil pauffley for 12 months

I be interested to know if members on the forum feel it's a waste of time and money as I getting a lot of opposition from fellow directors who feel i am on a hiding to nothing and neither the players or British tennis public appear to be really interested in a British national club league

i have consequently sponsored instead Scotts Sears record breaking trek to the South Pole in aid of the Gurkha welfare trust

Honestly, A1, I've never attended a national team tennis event in Britain so I can't give you any feedback. The idea of team tennis is very dear to my heart but my experience is purely French. As I don't belong to a club here, or even feel akin to any county, I'm not sure how I'd even go about it - I have nothing invested in a club or a county so the whole ethos of teaming tennis and supporting your team would be lost on me.

However, I appreciate your commitment to team tennis. And, just to say to your directors, I have zero interest in the trek to the South Pole. So team tennis, even from afar, gets my vote any day.
