Now that was an interesting night. I don't think I was alone in suggesting when Suzy was doing her Sharm stuff that it would be good to see her spread her wings a bit. She subsequently has quite a bit !!

Good to see Katie and Naomi get the wins. We shall put set 1 down to a very slow start for Katie.

Not going super swimmingly for Naomi, 2-6 1-0*
Katie plays in the second set of matches to take court, Naomi was in the set that was first up.

Naomi needs to break back here to extend the match any further. She's blown 4 chances to do just that in the game so far.

12 aces, but 8 DF for Naomi; 17% won on 1st return is awful as per usual, 1/6 on BP chances, but four of thoses were in the final game.

So inconsistent.

I just get frustrated in that I believe there's a player there who could / should have been in higher ranking echelons for a large part of her career to date.

All over in singles; Katie has lots of learninig to do at this level, and mustn't be discouraged if more matches end up lopsided like this one seems to.
