Jo lost 3-6, 3-6, looking a bit rusty. But no apparent problems with her movement, and I doubt whether she would have played at all if her foot was a big concern still.

She will play the loser of Ostapenko/Pliskova in a consolation final on Xmas Eve...

I'm so glad Jo's back, and is getting low stress practice in before the season start.

Watched the highlights. Thought Halep and Jo both played very well, and I do like their match up/rivalry. Jo has been quite the foil for Simona in the last year or so.

Halep looks in excellent shape both mentally and physically. There was something about her "swagger" that makes me think this could be her year.

Jo against Jelena was quite a different match with Jelena often controlling who was winning and losing the points. That said, Jo looked sharp (in the highlights at least) and her backhand crosscourt, in particular, looked good. Encouraged!
