Week 43 - Challenger (€106,000+H) - Open Brest Arena Crédit Agricole - Brest, France (hard) - doubles

L16:  (4) Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 157 (88+69) vs Sander Gille & Joran Vliegen (BEL/BEL) CR 244 (129+115)

L16:  Scott Clayton & Divij Sharan (IND) CR 225 (159+66) vs (2) Roman Jebavy & Adil Shamasdin (CZE/CAN) CR 117 (55+62)

Lousy draw for Scott & Divij.  cry  Wonder where Jonny is this week.  Not a bad substitute, though.  smile

I assume if they both might have travelled but might have split once there as cut off is 255. So Jonny and Scott wouldn't have got in.Scott maybe got lucky on finding a partner but Jonny didn't?

Makes sense.  If true, shame for Jonny.

Pity for Jonny. It will split their joint ranking, either Scott moves ahead again or I believe Jonny would go ahead having played fewer tournaments with the same number of points.

There goes Jonny's ranking parity. disbelief

More seriously though, if Scott can keep improving his ranking, it will aid them as a pair when they are trying to enter the higher ranked Challenger tournaments. So well played Scott +1.

Considering Sharan won a ATP title last week, Scott has done well to team up with him.

I very much fancy their chances this week.

Last DA was 289 so this is a particularly strong Challenger.

A cracking win!  biggrin

QF:  Yannick Hanfmann & Kevin Krawietz (GER/GER) CR 758 (646+112) vs Scott Clayton & Divij Sharan (IND) CR 205 (154+51)

That means that the only seeds left standing are Leander Paes & Sharan's erstwhile partner, Purav Raja (3).

Boys are a set up but a break down. Scott playing the better of the two quite easily so far.

An excellent performance by the lads from 3-1 down in the second. Well done.
