Anna & Nicole haven't won a point on their second serve yet (0/5), which hasn't helped, *2-5

A great win here for Anna and Nicole, and this does begin to shift their rankings. The rankings shown above are last weeks... this week Anna and Nicole are respectively 55 + 47 = 102, and with the 100 points gained today this moves them to Anna 53=CH and Nicole 44=NCH. Another two wins would be needed though before Anna can start to look at the top 50 (and Nicole top 40)... so let's keep it going both!

Good stuff

Anna has 110 points coming off next Monday from a WTA International SF this week last year. So although yes she is apparently up at the moment from WR 55 to live ranking 53 she is actually a net 10 points down. So just need to keep winning !

Still good to see that they have been raking in a fair number of points again, 100 points or more in each of their last three tournaments. Though their counting average is well over 100. They've set a good standard to try and better.

And plenty of savers to consolidate their rankings also...

Wonder what's going on with Joss?

Yes, I've been wondering that too. If I recall the last tournament she played she won, or came near... and then hasn't been seen since?

A great result biggrin and now Anna is +75 for the week and potentially edging up to 52 in the rankings which would be a CH. One more win though and she and Nicole's ranking will suddenly become much more competitive...

Wasn't the plan that she was going to tag along with Laura R? But that was predicated on the likelihood of Laura getting back on to the WTA tour, when her ranking was close.

Joss was at Jade Windley's wedding, though it can't, surely, have been so good a night that it's taken this long to have recovered

I only ever read that Laura and Joss planned to tie up for the grass court season although I may have missed some other pronouncement(s).

I do wonder what Joss's plans are going forward and if there are any particular injury issues.
