Doubles cut off is two weeks before.

Thanks wolf. So Joss and Jessica will add no more doubles points before cut-off. So we can forget any possibility of them getting into the US Open as a partnership.

Probably should have just asked this first before doing sums

Katie had a horrible start, winning just 2 of the first 11 games, but has since won 3 in a row to go from a break down to a break up in the 2nd - 1-6 *4-3

... only for the 3rd set to go the same way as the 1st, 1-6

Doubles matches for both Joss, and, separately, Laura R, are in play.
'son/'son 3-1* against WC
Jo/Je/ss 1-0 against Mayo/Whoriskey.

Hmmm and Joss and Jess lost 4-10 in an MTB which doesn't do them much good... Disappointing after last week's WTA tournament run... Well, if they are now too late to have any chance of making the US open draw as a pairing it will be interesting to see what their respective doubles ambitions are now.

In contrast Laura and Tammi have a good doubles win, but against far less experienced opposition 6-4 6-1

Laura is not just the defending singles champion here but the defending doubles champion as well, having won the title last year along with Freya.

I can't believe this was a year ago already!

Scary to think that was a year ago, in my mind I thought she was making good progress but a year on you've got to say probably not. She's so far behind Heather and even Naomi at the moment then Jo is on another level altogether.

In the preceding match last years runner-up, Elbaba, was defeated. Let's hope the 2016 champion does not suffer a similar fate.

No Ken commentary this year though.

Laura drops serve in the third game. I have a bad feeling about this one - daren't watch any more. Probably due to Laura's body language, even at this early stage not inspiring confidence.
