Irrelevant trivia, I know, but Leduc happens to be the younger sister of the alternate Brydan beat in QR1 in Montréal.

Katie is also in doubles qualifying. Top seeds are ranked about 650 so it's a stacked draw (higher ranked than 4th seeds in Chiswick)

Good effort from Em indoors, losing 63 75.

Tough field this one.

Interesting to see Joss and Jessica move from a creditable run in the Washington WTA event to this 25k. I guess an intent to raise their combined ranking... I don't know how doubles cutoffs work for the grand slams, whether they would still have any chance of reaching the US Open main draw?

Hope nothing serious with Katie B. She has a chance of sneaking into US Open qualifying with Tennisforum currently showing her as 9th alt. Naomi is shown as now 4th alt for the main draw.

I think they might have to win this 25K and more importantly probably next week's Canada 100K to have a chance as a partnership.

I make it that the total 190 points ( 50 + 140 ).would take Joss up to around WR 75 and Jessica around WR 100 on 21/08 and I think that ranking date  still counts for US Open doubles ?

A CR 175 is I think around what on a few occasions has had Jossanna on the boderline for Slam entry.

A few "I think"s there particularly with regards to the doubles ranking cut-off date. If it's earlier they have no more chance to add points so no US Open chance.

American reporters saying that this is Pegula's (Laura's opponent) first match since January of this year, having been sidelined with injury.
