Week 32 - Challenger ($100,000) - Nordic Naturals Challenger, Aptos, CA (hard)

Really good mental strength from Liam there. And some more aggressive play than I've seen him show in his play. Well done!

Liam does it!  7-6, 6-3.  The 2nd set ended up closer than I thought it was going tobe. I think Taylor was tired after a long match yesterday.  Very good serving from Liam today, and respect to him for how he dealt with that over rule at 4-2.    Very good serving, best I have seen from him.

Super from Liam.

Some punter here described the Willis vs Broady Wimbledon qualifying match as "fattie vs limited". Great that he is being shown a few things.

Go Liam !

Well done Liam. But what is that stuff on his face?

Up to 256 in the live rankings. Think that win also guarantees Liam finishing the year inside the top 300.

Up to the 250s in the rankings.

One more win for a challenger title, up over 100 places to around WR 220 and edging ahead of Cam and Brydan for GB #5.

The limited comment has some truth to it but knowing what he has got and indeed how to neuratise his opponents strengths and capitalise on their weaknesses is the way Liam has prospered this week and hopefully he will taken even more confidence into the autumn tournaments coming up

I always try to speak some truth  Yes, great to have weapons, but when you are making pretty much the best of what you have it is a great effort.

Only saw the second set, but Liam capitalised on a lot of forehand errors from Fritz.

Sadly couldn't do that, partly because I'm an hour later, but great to read all the comments and commentary.

Blinkin' brilliant run this week by Liam. Really pleased for him. Would be curious to know what has suddenly 'gone right' these past few months - he's not someone coming back off injury or whatever. Wonder if even he knows. Or just the vagaries of tennis and proof that hard work and staying power will be rewarded at some point....

Couldn't be happier for @Liambroady and the level he is back playing rn. Form is temporary, class is permanent. #icanstillreadyourserve

Final:  (4) Bolt & Jordan Thompson (AUS/AUS) CR 217 (118+99) vs (3) Jonathan Erlich (ISR) & Neal Skupski CR 171 (88+83)

Here's to a Brit triumph in both finals.    The Aussies saw off the top seeds, Koolhof & Sitak, by 6-3 2-6 [10-8] in their semi...
