The main draw is out now and unfortunately although still listed in the acceptance list, Mandy Carreras is NOT in the draw, following her withdrawal last week. That suggests her wrist has flared up again. Only Brit player is Emily Arbuthnott.

R1: ARBUTHNOTT, Emily (GBR) 669 vs YEROLYMOS, Margot (FRA) 4 525 CH:374 Oct 16

Amanda Carreras was listed as the highest ranked player on the acceptance list but must have been a late withdrawal.

Nice win; both of the opponents were doubles ranked; & one, Ines Murta, was as high as WR 506 (and WR 597 in singles).

I think both have won ITF points before - but I don't think any are current - well done smile

Margot Y has not played a 15k since April this year, playing a whole heap of richer tournaments instead.
But not getting any results of note so obviously decided to drop back down again to get some wins / confidence / points.
Which obviously has completely backfired as Emily Arb has just had her for breakfast.
Margot is not a great clay courter but she won last year's 10k in Nottingham and made the semis in Roehampton (both on hard).
She's a very decent player with a good team.

Well done, Emily - great win !

Straightforward for Emily as CD suggested. Her potential QF opponents up next.
