Lisa Whybourn calls time on pro career

So sad to hear but not surprised due to the persistent injuries.

Good luck to Lisa in her future endeavours.

Sad that injuries took over. But the plus side now is that if she wants to go into coaching, it provides a better life than being a player outside the top 100 for most.

Thanks for all the positive feedback on the article.

It's been really good to follow Lisa's progress over the years and couldn't help but feel really frustrated for her with all those injuries.

I have no doubt that whatever she moves on to next, and it looks like it will be coaching, she will make a success of it.

Shame she isn't staying in the UK to help talent here.

A better lifestyle for those that play and teach sport in Australia as I know from personal experience. They are far more enthusiastic for tennis at all levels and the sport is more accessible for all over there rather than being for the elite and those that can afford it in this country. I imagine in that respect it will be far more rewarding and I also would assume therefore that she has a business visa that is only granted with legit employment so it's a great opportunity for a new life and I wish her all the best. She seems like a likeable lass and from the little evidence I've seen on social media has a great sense of humour so I'm sure she ll fit in well.

Yes, all the very best for Lisa.

One door closes ( and I am sure she would really love to be still competing ) but another opens or rather more you go and make sure another opens.

New beginnings ...
