Week 25 - ATP 500 - The Aegon Championships, The Queen's Club (grass) - doubles

Separate thread so that the results don't get buried.

L16:  (WC) Kyle Edmund & Thanasi Kokkinakis (AUS) UNR  (0 [but a CH of 713 in November 2014]+245) vs Rohan Bopanna & Ivan Dodig (IND/CRO) CR 36 (25+11)  bleh

L16:  Gilles Müller & Sam Querrey (LUX/USA) CR 151 (81+70) vs (3) Jamie Murray & Bruno Soares (BRA) CR 13 (6+7)

L16:  (WC) Dom Inglot & Nick Kyrgios (AUS) ( ) CR 118 (47+71) vs Marin Cilic & Marcin Matkowski (CRO/POL) CR 152 (110+42)

No Brits involved in doubles qualies.  Interestingly, Robin Haase is in doubles qualies in Halle with Bernard Tomic & they've beaten the q2, Koolhof & Middelkoop, in straight sets in QR1.

I assume the Skupskis weren't even offered a qualifying WC.

The qWC went to Knowle & Zimonjic, so I guess that, in rankings terms, it was no contest.  cry  Incidentally, they lost to the q1, Monroe & Young...

Well "ranking terms" hardly exactly comes into WC consideration for home WCs in singles. Neither are we talking about it being awarded to up and comers !!

Presumably the Skupskis' commitments in Nottingham prevented them from accepting a qualifying WC, if it was ever offered.

Yes was actually just thinking that. They played the QR1 doubles here today while the Skupskis were winning the Nottingham Challenger title. Yay !

Inglot and Kyrgios?! A more unlikely partnership than Schwarzenegger and Devitto.

Hope it's televised as can't wait!

I'll bet Dom is not a happy man. Shame for him about the Kyrgios injury.

And whilst Kyle may be on a downer after his result in the singles yesterday. his playing partner will be absolutely buzzing after taking out Raonic.

What the hell's going on in west London?  Jamie & Bruno have just lost the first set by 1-6!  And where's the coverage on the red button that Bouncy (who annoyed me yet again by pronouncing "Matkowski" Mat-cow-ski - the ignorant peasant!) kept wittering on about earlier?!!  furious
