Lloyd tweeting to say he has 'tough decisions to make', sounds ominous. Enigmatically (annoyingly) he doesn't expand on that. He burst onto the scene with such promise, but seems to have stalled this year, I hope he keeps going. Does anyone have any intel on his future?

He should give it one more year, but agreed his progress has been poor. He spends too much time tweeting to be dedicated.

Don't think you can generalise re tweeting or most other off court activities to lack of dedication. There will still be plenty down time to fill.

I hardly take much notice of twitter but a couple of things have still struck me about Lloyd's actual output though. A bit of a "do they know who I am?" attitude after a poor loss in an early year home futures when he had been allocated what he called the "worst court" and his language at other times. Not impressive.

He has slid 118 places so far this year and at 498 is more than 200 places down on his CH of 282. It looked like he trained with Heather at the beginning of this hard court season in Florida, but was less clear what he was training for. He has only played in 5 tournaments this year, and only twice since 20 March, and his last was in Dublin in mid July. Is supposed to be in the main draw for Minsk this week and is on the acceptance list there next week too.

Sort of hoping he can follow in the footsteps of Liam, who had an awful year last year, knuckled down and is now beginning to reap the benefits of the hard work. A bad season does not mean the end of a career, but you have to learn from it and come back stronger.

That's just the tournaments where he has picked up ranking points. He has actually played in 20 including 11 after Guadalajara in March. His zero scores have mainly been from not getting through Challenger qualifying with also a few futures R1 exits.

Yes my bad. I was forgetting the stats pages here just show the tournaments with actual points picked up. Well, whatever Lloyd decides, good luck to him.

I've no idea about the man but, for me, it's not only a question of passion for the game, and commitment to trying to make it, but also what your other options are (which is the main reason I was so confident that Dan Evans would come back last time, and why I'm still confident that he will this time too, although it will be harder).

And so I do wonder if Lloyd sometimes looks at his brother and thinks, why don't I try something different? He's a 'cute' enough looking guy and I somehow don't feel that tennis is so ingrained in him and the family as it is in Liam.

But this may be unfair and he certainly is a talented player. Wishing him a good, injury-free run in Belarus and the start of a better half to the year.

I think a lot of it is just that he's been injured myself.

Going by his social media, he'd be a more natural fit on TOWIE or some show like that. Maybe he'll be on Love Island soon. He's just one Wimbldon win away from spending the next 5 years dating various reality tv girls and having updates on his love life featuring on the Dailymail Online. Along with featuring on the tv shows that typically regard a group including a couple of reality stars as their celebrity guests.

Lloyd has just tweeted this.

Great to be back on the court competing at 100% health. It's been a while!
