Apparently the rationale for ticketing the event is that it will reduce the queues which built up outside the grounds while everyone registered their details and which were considered hazardous/a nuisance last year. So that would suggest not on the door with details being registered at time of purchase.
Because, of course, it wouldn't occur to Mr./Ms. Terrorist to register false details when (s)he walks in with some dodgy device secreted somewhere on their person......
Yes, I think they were trying to catch betting scammers rather than terrorists (tennis seems to be taking more and more anti-scam measures that inconvenience genuine fans without having the slightest effect on the scammers themselves) but it was an absolute farce. They weren't asking for ID, just your name and (just part of? - I can't remember) your address - no doubt normal fans told the truth and any scammers just lied.

Heard an interesting story about the betting scammers and several are known to the LTA and have been removed from tournaments.
There was definitely an incident at Manchester last year and I'm aware of several others.
I just hope there is an opportunity to get tickets, last years queues were a minor inconvenience for me it was just nice to be able to pop in when the opportunity arose and there was a lull at work. If the facilities significantly improve ie. there is a place to sit, it will be worth the change from a fans perspective when Sharapova is out of the equation and demand reverts to normal level.
"The Wimbledon qualifying tournament at Roehampton next month......... will be televised for the first time after Eurosport struck a deal with the All England Club."
Seemingly, the cut comes in at ATP 231 for the men.
So Brydan WR 216 makes it, Cam WR 243 for now doesn't, not that he need worry that he won't anyway get some sort of WC anyway.
Brydan the last couple of years has only belatedly been given a MD WC. I wonder how it will go this year. I guess that the four ahead of them in the rankings being direct entrants makes it much more likely that both Brydan and Cam will get MD WCs.
Yes, given the rankings or everyone, Brydan must be a slamdunk for a wildcard. And Cam too.
I'd also give one to Marcus and Jay.
Marcus doesn't deserve one but a story is a story and that's part of the sport nowadays.
And there's always room for one very promising youngster to get a MD wildcard. In the same way Katie Swan did last year (not that it's done her much good, although I know injuries have not been kind).
Short of minor miracles during the grasscourt events in the next couple of weeks, I can't see anyone else with a glimmer....
