Yes, great to see.

I'd love to see Helen back on tour ( i.e. ITFs, not British tour ), but just if and when she feels ready.

Naomi Broady is playing Edgbaston this week. As are Beth, Laura D and Lucy B (amongst others).

Naomi defeated Kasia Pitak 6-4 6-4, which is not exactly 'easy' but got the job done.

In the QFs, Naomi B plays Ghodrati, Laura D plays Hilllyer, Lucy plays beth and Bolkvadze plays Alannah Griffin

After her recent good results in Sharm, young Nell Miller (turned 15 two days ago) has zoomed through to the final (helped, it's true, by Natasha H retiring in her match, but all the same . . .)

She'll play 16 year-old Lauren Dowling in the final.

Helen had to retire. It's hard for her to do a full week flat-out. Hope she's feeling better soon.

COngrats to Beth.

On the clay in Bournemouth, young Jodie Burrage wins the title

15 year-old Jodie beat olivia Nichols in the final, having already beaten top seed Aimee Gibson in the semis. Olivia beat Katie Dyson in her semi.

Beth Askew lost in the semis to Katie Dyson.

Katie (surely she's half-way there with that name???) will play young Lidia Burrows in the final.

Yes, you could see Katie cleaning up with that name.

Watched a bit of Miss Burrows whilst I was strolling around the venue today, very calm and poised against an opponent who was getting increasingly agitated. Heard also that Jess Ren had a shocker earlier in the week, very sad to see someone who had so much potential, now playing so poorly, on a positive note apparently she is enjoying her time at Durham Uni.
